"The Custom Crow Cart (CCC)" As I get older I find that its getting harder and harder to get all my crow hunting equipment (its getting heavier too) to that prime set–up spot which is usually 500 yards across a corn or soybean field. I usually take a blind /blinds, chair, 2 dozen decoys, a Buster II, shotgun, shells, hand calls, E-caller, extension pole for placing decoys high up, a counter, snacks and drinks and a camera. I’m worn out just thinking about carrying all that stuff. It’s the same when I’m bow hunting turkeys or taking the grandsons fishing. Well, I found a solution that works well for me and it too can help you with a very small outlay of money and a little elbow grease. I call it the Custom Crow Cart or Triple C. With this cart carrying crow hunting equipment is a thing of the past. To start off with you need to find one of the “old style” pull behind golf carts. For you non-golfers this is the kind that when the handle folds up the wheels extend out. You usually see these at yard sales for $5. I called an avid golfer friend of mine and got it for free. He had three of them collecting dust in a shed. Mine is a “BAG BOY” made by Browning but other brands will do just fine. Next, find yourself a mud bucket (you can find these along the road) and bolt it to the base of the cart. If you want more room use a larger waste paper can or a plastic milk crate. One guy I know attached a 1’ by 2’ piece of plywood to the base. This enabled him to carry a cooler as well. If you shoot as many crows as Bob Aronsohn, this will give you the extra room you need to carry more cases of shells. Clean both the cart and bucket up good, prime them, then use your artistic abilities and camouflage with spray paint (I like Krylon brand). What fun you will have and the skies the limit.
As you can see in the pictures, all the equipment I listed above fits in the bucket. I use bungee cords to hold everything together. The wheels are fairly large and are solid so they will easily roll over most terrain without upsetting. The handle folds down and the wheels fold inward to make it compact so it will easily fit in your pick up, SUV or car for easy transport.
